 
	Ingredients:
  
5 large chokos
 	
¾ lb dates
 
½ lb raisins
 
½ lb sultanas
 
½ lb preserved ginger
 
1 small onion
 	
1½ cups sugar
   
1¼ pints vinegar
 
1 large cooking apple
½ tsp cayenne pepper
 3 Tbl salt
Method:
 
Peel and seed chokos, cut up finely.
Add chopped fruits and ginger, chopped apple and onion.
Stir in sugar, salt, cayenne and vinegar.
Cook gently, uncovered, approximately 2 hours until ingredients are tender and uniform in colour and consistency.
Bottle and seal while hot.
